 Rescue
was formed about 5 years ago when Jason Overstreet wrote and arranged some
A Cappella songs for his college Senior Recital. He called several
of his friends to help him perform those songs. He was encouraged
by is Professors to consider this type of music as a career.
Overstreet asked three of the singers from his recital to join him in making a quartet. They agreed and the quartet was completed by Matt Lusk, Jason McKenney and Chad Krober. One year later, Matt Lusk moved to California with his wife leaving a hole in the low end. Jason McKenney's little brother Josh filled that hole with amazing low end tones and abilities. In November of 1999, Jason Pearce joined the group as the fifth member. But, in mid December, Chad informed the group of his calling to return to school to achieve his Masters Degree. Back to a quartet, Rescue forged ahead and the Lord blessed the group in overwhelming ways. Rescue has toured throughout the U.S. and have received invitations for international venues as well. Based out of Gresham Oregon and firmly planted and represented in the Northwest, Rescue is looking forward to more national exposure while still clinging to the desire to follow the leading of the Lord. The name Rescue was chosen on a long road trip to Southern Oregon. The group was listing band name ideas in the car and Rescue made the list. One of the members came up with the name because of the influence of a song, of the same title, by the group called A Cappella. Because the desire of the group is to Rescue people from a life without the Lord, the name was perfect. Current members are Josh McKenney, Jason McKenney, Jason Overstreet and Jason Pearce. |
