 The Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:1 that we are to follow his example, just as he followed the example of Jesus Christ. We are to imitate Jesus and become mirror images of Christ. Mirror Image is a three-piece Christian band that plays straight up rock and roll baked in the Texas sun. As with any Christian band, we praise the Lord but our
mission is to present messages in parable form and communicate them in song. In 1997, Matt Merchant was in Spring, Texas playing guitar and lead singer for a band called "Concrete Faith." At this same time, Matt's sister was attending the same church as Roger Morris in Huntsville. While visiting his sister, Matt was introduced to Roger and the following year, Matt moved to Huntsville after "Concrete Faith" dissolved. Roger and Matt began playing, mostly at church events, writing songs and developing a musical style. In 2001, Mirror Image was born when Josh Bowen join on drums. In January 2002, the band recorded a demo called "Marker in Time," but shortly afterward, Josh felt lead in a different direction and left the band. Roger and Matt met Amy Barnes in a church sponsored volley ball league and she replaced Josh on drums. The band plays mostly around Huntsville and is currently recording new songs. |
