| The Broken Silence |
 "The Broken Silence" is an unsigned Christian Pop/Alternative group featuring siblings Sonny Wink and Cindy Cochran. Their music stands out in a crowd because of the ORIGINAL and HIGHLY ENERGETIC mixture of Hip Hop and R&B drum loops inter-twined with alternative guitars and vocals. Their heart-rending lyrics express their inmost beings to God and even God's heart (as seen in His Word) to His creation! The theme throughout their debut album entitled, "Can't Wait Forever" expresses their urgency to get closer to God and, most importantly, God's urgency for all men to turn their hearts back to Him!"The goal, vision, and ministry of "The Broken Silence" is to change the world one heart at a time through Christ-centered music in so to turn the tide for Christ!" -The Broken Silence, 2005 Since the age of 12, Sonny has been serving God through music by writing and recording Christ-centered songs. He was trained for four years by guitar teacher Harlen Madison at Hotlicks Guitar Shop in Waldorf, Maryland. In his 10th grade year of High School, Sonny recorded his band "Breaking Point" and self-produced 1,000 ten song CD demos entitled, "Shed the Past." The album was mostly distributed throughout Northern High School in Owings, Maryland. At the age of 20, Sonny entered into the praise and worship ministry at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Deale, Maryland under the authority of Ryan Fox and Kevin Baker. He now serves with his sister under the authority of Joe Heinricks on a bi-weekly basis at Cedar Grove's "Experience" service. Cindy has been singing for most of her life and is now serving God through music along side of her brother. She currently uses her gift under the authority of Joe Heinricks at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church's "Experience" service with her brother Sonny. Since the age of five, Cindy has danced for "Diane Herbert's Dance Studio" and has performed in front of live audiences for 22 years. As a result of her many dance competitions and performances, Cindy has developed excellent stage presence. The future plans of The Broken Silence are to expand their local music ministry, and, God willing, obtain corporate sponsorship that will enable them to reach the world through Christ-centered music. |
