 ARPAY is a Quechua word that means effort, success, or reaching the summit. This name identifies our group of Andean and Latin American musicians. Arpay was born with the profound desire of sharing its music with the world. Cesar, Fernando and Jose Reyes, and Constancio Tarqui founded Arpay on April 4, 1984. They were later joined by Raul Valle and Ismael Barboza. ARPAY'S OBJECTIVE ARPAY has incorporated the feelings and way-of-life of the Andean people by transforming their traditional expression of defeat, frustration, and resentment, into an extraordinary liberation song of faith, hope and love. ARPAY sings about life and through music, invites us to fullness of life. Mankind incessantly looks for peace and love in a universal cry. However, the situation of the world is alarming, thus ARPAY feeds the human soul that is fighting for survival. Unless humanity returns to the ways of LOVE, TRUTH, and PEACE, the ways that fulfill the meaning of existence, there won't be change. There won't be LIFE without TRUTH and LOVE! This is the mystery that will be revealed to mankind through a genuine return to the Creator, to the Supreme Being, to the Son of Justice? to Jesus Christ the savior. |
