DO YOU WANT TO BE A MEMBER OF GOD’S FAMILY? In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Then He created man to live with Him forever and commanded them to go and multiply. But man fell to sin transgressing God’s law resulting to separation from God. We lost our state of relationship with God. Since then, death and curse reigned over the whole creation because of sin. Just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death came to all men. No one is qualified to live with God in eternity because of sin and death that reigned from the time of Moses, even to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command. We inherited this sin from Adam and Eve. And God prepared an eternal punishment for the devil and all his demons. God is loving and merciful and He doesn’t want us punished. But God is just and therefore must punish sin (sinners). Thus man was included and cannot save himself from this predicament. The only penalty for sin is death. Giving alms can never diminish the wages of sin nor will ever acquit one soul. Good works are but filthy rags before God without Christ. So God came up with a plan to save us. It is not by works, nor earned. God sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die in our place. He alone is worthy to redeem us because He is without sin. The only way to receive the benefits of what Jesus did in the cross; the only way to obtain salvation, the only way to receive God’s righteousness and be justified before Him is by faith! Righteousness from God apart from the law has been made known. This righteousness comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Saving faith is not mere intellectual assent like believing certain historical facts. It is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. It means resting upon Christ alone and what He has done rather in what you or I have done to get us into heaven. Would you like to receive the gift of eternal life? Let’s clarify just what it involves. You need to: 1.) REPENT = Be willing to turn from anything that is not pleasing to God and continue to walk in it. Acknowledge that you are a sinner. He will reveal His will to you as you grow in your relationship with Him. 2.) BELIEVE = Believe only in the Lord Jesus Christ that He died and paid all our sin, infirmities and grief in the cross and that He rose from the dead on the third day. You need to transfer your trust from what you have been doing to what Christ has done for you. If you die, you will rise again with Him because you believed. 3.) CONFESS = If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Confess Jesus as your only Savior and eternal Lord. Give Him the "driver’s seat" and "controls" of your life. Continue to walk in Him. Now, if this is what you really want you can go to God in prayer right where you are and receive the gift of eternal life. Here’s a suggested prayer: FATHER IN HEAVEN, IN THE NAME OF JESUS, I KNOW I AM A SINNER AND DO NOT DESERVE HEAVEN. I HAVE SINNED AGAINST YOU IN THOUGHT, IN WORD AND IN DEED. LORD JESUS, I BELIEVE YOU DIED AND ROSE FROM THE GRAVE FOR ME AND TO LET ME KNOW THAT IN YOU THERE IS LIFE AFTER PHYSICAL DEATH. FORGIVE MY SINS BY YOUR PRECIOUS BLOOD. I REPENT OF MY SINS AND NOW PLACE MY TRUST IN YOU AS MY LORD AND SAVIOR. THANK YOU FOR HONORING MY PRAYER. IN JESUS NAME, AMEN. If this prayer is the sincere desire of your heart, if you have truly repented from your sins and received the Gift of eternal Life, WELCOME TO GOD’S FAMILY! Today is your spiritual birthday! A day you will always want to remember. Look at what Jesus promises to those who believe in Him: "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on His name." (John 1:12) Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say unto you, he that believes in Me has everlasting life." (John 6: 47) WHAT’S NEXT? Read the Bible starting with the gospel of John, read a chapter a day. Spend time each day talking with God in prayer. Regularly attend a church that honors Jesus and teaches you the Bible. Fellowship with Christians who will help you grow in faith and tell others about Jesus. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CONGREGATION: A.)
